I laugh at your line in the sand
And dance with the oncoming storm
Rain has always been part of the sea
Even while separated by the sky

And it has always been
Mother earths gift
And curse
To those who survive
And those who thrive
Upon her

And in the end
I’ll be there dancing
Surrounded by fire and ash and bones
Laughing all the way
At the enemies who didn’t know
To tremble at my fury
The burning fire of my soul
Hidden as emers in a forest
Waiting for the right spark to explode
Into a starving wildfire
seeking eternally for more fuel
Eating away at the world until all that remains
Are the scorch-marked bones
And floating ash
Of the once full forest surroundings
That protected and caged the embers
Ever so carefully
Protecting the world from the fire’s wrath
Urged on by the shrieking winds laughter
And the sulking storm,
Lightening bored by the rain,
Looking to spark the fire once again
To watch the show
The unbridled chaos
As the earth falters and holds back
Letting the fire wipe away the blemish on its face
Before once again intervening
Cradling the spirit and spark of the fire
Drawing it back to its glowing embers
To be released once again
